Some thoughts about Wonder Woman #49

The Dark Gods' attack continues.

Diana and Jason are trying to save the entire planet from the deities who want to destroy it but even their combined forces won't be enough.

Guess what? This issue wasn't good either!

Yeah, is not much of a surprise and I think most people at this point are just waiting for this mediocre story to be over. James Robinson has brought yet another chapter where he mostly focuses on lackluster action scenes and makes the whole issue feel pretty decompressed and lacking in content as a whole.

Not everything is terrible though since there are a few decent character moments here and there but nothing particularly great. The way how the deities are presented is interesting enough but I feel like it would have been much better if they were introduced one by one and focusing each one in a different chapter, hey, in fact that might have saved this story!

The worst offender here is Jason who once again, has changed sides, this time because he has been mind-controlled by the enemy. What a constant loser he ended-up being after so many years of anticipation about his creation.

Jesus Merino handles the art and once again, he's not bad but not particularly great either. He's always serviceable in terms of character models and storytelling but nothing more.

Boy, this felt like waste yet again. Just end.
