Some thoughts about Green Lantern Corps #33

The war against the Durlans is far from over.

John Stewart has finally found love thanks to Yrra but good things don't last unfortunately. Now, the Green Lantern Corps will have to face the last surviving Durlan who has all the power that its race always wanted.

This is the final chapter from "Uprising" saga and while I thought that the previous issue of Green Lantern was a proper conclusion for the story, this issue also works splendidly.

There's something that happens in this issue that will be most likely a spoiler for most so I will try not to mention it but I will say that it's a pretty surprising plot-point that makes you wonder when did it happen. Van Jensen executes this twist perfectly by making John basically the culprit of it as well as portraying all the character moments that it brings.

The action is also quite good and helps to make this issue fits its place as the conclusion of this event while also delivering the hints about upcoming stories in the future. It was also great to see a lot of members from the Corps being depicted here.

Speaking of that, artist Bernard Chang brings a beautiful and vibrant work while portraying all the characters wonderfully along with all the fighting scenes. Marcelo Maiolo's colors make Chang's pencils much more powerful.

A quite satisfying ending for this storyline, better than I expected in fact.
