Some thoughts about Wonder Woman #33

Can Wonder Woman and her allies face the fury of the First Born?

Diana has been captured by the First Born in the Olympus and she's being forced to either accept him as her king or watch everything she loves die. However, despite of these circunstances, her friends are not willing to surrender and not even their upcoming death will change that.

The creative team that has been delivering some of the best Wonder Woman stories is back and they're definitely giving their best now that the end is near.

Brian Azzarello brings his usual dialogue full of puns and while some of them get a bit old at times, the strength of the script is enough to ignore such flaw. The story moves at a perfect pace and you can feel the struggle that every character is having towards the end.

Diana's characterization continues to be a pretty good one despite of the situation she's currently dealing with and the writer definitely exploits such moment to demonstrate how strong the personality of the heroine is, I really enjoyed these scenes and the emotion they bring.

Also, there's a nice surprise at the end and one that brings back this run in full circle.

Cliff Chiang returns to pencils and his work is simply magnificent, his Wonder Woman is completely beautiful as well as the rest of his characters while his storytelling techniques are impeccable and the settings are wonderfully done.

Great issue, I have already mentioned this before but it's sad that it's getting over.
