Some thoughts about Batwoman #33

Can Batwoman survive the attack of a whole new team of villains?

Kate has not been the same since her encounter with Nocturna since she had some really strange dreams related to her. Now, while trying to fix her relationship with Maggie as well as trying to fix their problems with Maggie's ex-husband, Kate will also have to face one of the most recent attacks by a group of criminals ready to create mayhem in Gotham City.

I think this is not working for me anymore honestly.

Marc Andreyko does a solid job at creating an interesting plot with nice character development for Kate as well as the rest of the cast but the overall story is not exactly something impressive. The arc focusing of Nocturna progresses adequately and has nice pacing but at the same time there's not enough uniqueness or surprises over the course of the story to truly make it something special.

I would say that while the dialogue is good for the most part, the villains something speak in pretty cliche ways by announcing their names while they talk. Not to mention that aside from Nocturna, none of them are particularly interesting.

Jeremy Haun shares art duties with Scott Kolins for this issue and while Haun's artwork is the most appropriate for this series, Kolins still does a solid job at depicting the scenes despite of his more cartoony style.

It's still a decent issue, is just that at this point is becoming kinda derivative.
