Some thoughts about Green Lantern: New Guardians #33

Kyle Rayner and Carol Ferris have finally found each other, it might not the best of times though.

The Guardians of the Universe have committed a lot of terrible acts over the course of their existence and once again, such crimes are about to come back to get them. The Psions are a creation from the the Guardians who are willing to become as great as they believe their creators are, can Kyle and Carol save them from making more harm?

I said it once and I will say it again, not only the best Green Lantern title but also the best DC cosmic title on the stands.

While the previous entry was mostly a set-up to introduce the kind of threat the protagonists were facing, this one delivers exactly on that promise. Writer Justin Jordan recreates an old threat in the form of the Psions but presents it in a new way that makes them much more complex than in their previous appearances, not to mention much more terrifying that before. The issue has a great sci-fi horror tone that makes the story much more compelling.

The character work continues to be good while Kyle and Carol progress their relationship while also exploring different aspects of their mentality based on the kind of theme they're utilizing here and it works logically considering their own personalities.

Brad Walker and Diogenes Neves share pencils on this issue and while Walker's artwork remains as the strongest from this chapter, Neves also delivers a pretty competent work. Fortunately both create a consisten style over the course of the issue that makes the setting much better.

Another great issue from this series, what are you waiting for people?
