Some thoughts about Batman and Robin #33

Batman will bring Damian back to life no matter if he has to face the whole Justice League to do so.

Bruce has just discovered the connection that Apokolips has with the corpse of his son and he's decided to doing so despite of his own limitations. However, he will still need all the help that he can get and even if the Justice League denies it he can always count with the people who are closest to him.

This is the second chapter from the "Robin Rises" storyarc and so far Peter Tomasi is delivering on his promise about creating an exciting plot.

This has become the kind of Batbook that you can always count to bring the fun aspect to the line. While other titles like the main Batman book and Detective Comic focus on telling stories mostly cemented in Gotham City and reality, Tomasi is not afraid of exploiting every premise and setting that he's able to.

This issue demonstrates that approach perfectly since the writer is about to take Batman to Apokolips which is something that doesn't happen really often. Add the amount of interaction Bruce has with the JL and how they helped him to create an armor that would make him able to endure anything and you have a quite entertaining comic right here.

This wouldn't have been as enjoyable without Patrick Gleason's pencils which bring the kind of personality and creativity that this story requires, his storytelling skills are perfect and make the script even stronger.

Absolutely fun issue, one of the most enjoyable I've read this week.
