Some thoughts about Batgirl #50

Batgirl and her friends will have to stop the person who has been messing with her head once for all.

Fugue is ready to ruin Barbara's life by any means and now he has hired all of her enemies to do it. However, Barbara might be even smarter than he expected.

This issue not only marks the title's anniversary but also the end of Cameron Stewart, Brenden Fletcher and Babs Tarr's run on the book. The team managed to bring new life to the character of Barbara Gordon so does this ending gives justice to the rest of their work?

Well, basically yes.

The creators bring the conclusion to the Fugue storyarc by making him recruit every villain they created during this series and to be fair, that always deliver a sense of closure to a work. The way how the rest of the cast is utilized is also effective due that each one of them is competent while showing their respective skills. The way how Babs beats Fugue is also logical.

My biggest problem is that aside from his powers, Fugue is not that interesting of a character. The way how he has planned everything was intriguing but he doesn't have enough personality by himself. The pacing was also a bit erratic at points.

Babs Tarr, John Timms, Roger Robinson and Eleondra Carlini handle the art with Stewart being in charge of some breakdowns and the amount of artist kinda affect the flow of the story. It looked good for the most part though.

I still think this is a solid issue despite of my complaints. Not a bad ending overall.
