Wolverine will have to deal with one of her most important missions yet: Saving a squirrel's life.
Squirrel Girl has just appeared in Laura's apartment telling her that is her fault that a squirrel's family is suffering right now and she will be forced to make things right.
Okay, this premise is incredibly silly but it works incredibly well in various levels.
Tom Taylor brings a new chapter where he plays with the dynamic between Laura and her new sister Gabby and how that is connected to the relationship she used to have with Logan. The theme is executed nicely although not in a particular subtle way since Taylor tends to repeat a lot of scenes to smash the point but overall, the character work is still satisfying.
The most entertaining part of the issue though is once that Squirrel Girl appears and bring the kind of insanity that I was hoping for. From the little moments where she brings a real wolverine to them trying to save a squirrel to telling her exactly what she needed to hear, everything is executed perfectly and makes their dynamic quite enjoyable.
Marcio Takara handles the artwork and is pretty solid with detailed character models and clear storytelling.
Quite nice read, probably one of the best from this book.
This could have been a silly issue, but it ended up being amusing without being silly, and with some very well-written dramatic moments.
