Some thoughts about Legends of Tomorrow #2

The legends about these heroes continue.

Firestorm is losing control, Metamorpho will have to learn more about his origins, Sugar and Spike need to deal with a problem that not even Superman wants to handle and the Metal Men will meet people just like them.

This series continues and I'm happy to say that is much better than the last issue.

The first story about Firestorm written by Gerry Conway manages to progress more the plot and the connection between Ronnie and Jason while also going back to the original incarnation of the character by mixing both Ronnie and Professor Stein. The character work is solid with each character showing their different motivations and even some side-characters also had nice scenes. Eduardo Pansica handles the artwork and is solid with expressive characters and detailed action scenes.

Aaron Lopresti brings Metamorpho's tale by exploring more about his origins as well as developing the threats he will have to face. Overall, I think is a better effort than the last one due the writer introduces different sci-fi elements to the plot but is still not quite impressive yet. Lopresti's pencils depict the story nicely with beautiful characters.

The best segment is once again Sugar and Spike. Keith Giffen continues to make the dynamic between the protagonist immensily entertaining while at the same time dealing with something really crazy: Get the Kryptonite that Superman forgot on an island shaped just like him. The story is insane and the author makes fun of it whenever he can. Bilquis Evely's artwork is still perfect here thanks to the distinctive style with good looking character models.

Finally, the section focusing on the Metal Men handled by Len Wein proves to be surprisingly interesting due that the writer is including some concepts that Geoff Johns introduced in Justice League like Robotman and the Red Tornado and creates a logical connection for them to interact. Is really packed with content. Yildiray Cinar makes the whole thing beautiful.

Overall, I would say that yet again Sugar and Spike is the winner here with Metal Men in second place, Firestorm in third and Metamorpho at the end. Still an improvement.
