Some thoughts about Green Arrow #51

Green Arrow will have to fight for his life as well as for the rest.

Deathstroke is hunting a man who can cure any kind of illness while there's also a terrorist group looking for him. It's up to Oliver to save him and he might not survive this fight.

Okay, follow me here: There's a group of African people called "The Whites". Why? Because they're using the tactics of that horrible race like gaining knowledge to expand their power over entire regions and so they can do terrible things like pillage, rape and kill. Oh, and they also paint their heads white because apparently the message wasn't clear enough.

... You know, this is almost adorable.

No really, is almost like this is something a child thought that would be a good story with a progressive tone.

Although I'm not sure I can call this "progressive", this is basically regressive.

What the hell is wrong with Ben Percy? I don't know what happens inside of this guy's head.

Look, I'm not white but if I was I would consider this incredibly offensive. This is what racism against white people look everyone, you don't need to check anywhere else and if someone thinks that depicting an entire race as "thieves, rapists and killers" is something accurate then I feel both sorry and enraged about them. This is sociocommentary gone wrong, terribly wrong, horribly wrong.

The rest of the issue is not so bad I guess? Deathstroke is competently portrayed although at times he seems to have more of Deadshot's personality and the fight scenes are solidly depicted.

Szymon Kudranski's artwork is certainly one of the best things about the fight scenes due that his style has almost cinematic feel that creates great looking characters and intense conflicts.

Other than that, please don't buy this, you will just be part of the problem.
