Changes are about to happen in the Suicide Squad.
Katana is ready to defeat Kobra no matter what while the new Deadshot is making things worse for everyone.
Once again, one of the segments is better than the other.
Mike W. Barr continues his story by still focusing on how Katana leads the team against the organization of Kobra and the writing is not particularly sharp. Some of the things that the writer does are appreciated like the inclusion of classic Outsiders characters like Geoforce but the dialogue can be pretty blunt and dated at times while the story doesn't show particularly impressive moments. Well, at least Katana changed her suit to look more like her movie version.
Diogenes Neves remains in art duties and his work is not bad but is still not the best I've seen from him, it lacks a certain polish here and there.
Then comes the Deadshot segment and Brian Buccellato actually surprises me by giving an interesting background and explanation for the new Deadshot by connecting him with the new origin that Matt Kindt created for him. The portrayal makes it pretty clear that he's quite different from Floyd while the rest of the cast react accordingly.
Viktor Bogdanovic continues to handle the pencils and his work is still pretty good looking with expressive character models and solid storytelling.
Mostly worthy for the Deadshot story but not so much for the other.
