Some thoughts about Futures End #4

Can Frankenstein work once again with S.H.A.D.E. after all the things that happened between them?

A strange menace is currently rising and nobody knows what exactly is, but they know that it was strong enough to take on Stormwatch and S.H.A.D.E. will need all the help they can get. Meanwhile, a strange group of supervillains is reuniting and Grifter may have found his match.

I'm surprised about how good the story has been progressing so far during this weekly series and this issue is no different.

There is a lot of content in this issue in terms of story and characterization. We get several reveals about the current situation of Frankenstein and his former boss, Father Time as well as the addition of Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld, to the cast. All the characters appearing here receive some pretty good scenes and I'm really enjoying some of them more than in their own series, especially in the case of Grifter.

There are several mysteries and sub-plots being developed on this issue, including the fate of Tim Drake, the threat that has been killing superheroes, supervillains gathering together, etc. All of these hints are revealed in a way that makes you intrigued about the future.

Aaron Lopresti is in charge of the art duties for this issue and his work is gorgeous, his characters are pretty expressive and beautiful while his storytelling techniques are pretty solid.

Another satisfying issue, this is my favorite weekly currently.
