Some thoughts about Aquaman #31

Can the King of the Seven Seas face the Avatar of the Green?

Arthur has seen several strange events recently and some of them makes him believe that Swamp Thing has something to do about it. However, that's not the only concern currently since Mera is still dealing with the people who want her dead for some reason and Triton base is having one of its most dangerous experiments yet.

Now this is what I'm talking about! Jeff Parker is able to deliver a pretty good issue that progresses the plot and also delivers some interesting segments of characterization and worldbuilding.

The Aquaman Vs. Swamp Thing segments are pretty good and Parker nails the personality and abilities of both characters perfectly, it creates a pretty good scene between the two and goes as well as you may expect.

However, the best parts from this issue for me were the ones focusing on Mera since she's the one handling one of the biggest mysteries of the story and she's able to discover new aspects of Atlantis that were never explored before.

Plus, of course, the Chimera is finally coming.

Paul Pelletier and Alvaro Martinez share art duties for the issue and they both do a pretty consistent job. Pelletier handles the Aquaman segments and Martinez is in charge of the Mera ones and while Pelletier remains the strongest, Martinez also does a solid job.

Satisfying issue definitely, more like this please!
