Some thoughts about Justice League #30

Is a brand new day for the Justice League and the world, or at least that's what Lex Luthor expects.

After playing one of the most important roles in the defeat of the Crime Syndicate, Luthor is ready to take his place as one of the World's Greatest Superheroes but the rest of the Justice League might have something to say about it. However, there are bigger concerns at hand since the Power Ring from Earth 3 is looking for a new replacement and it has finally found it.

The proper continuation of the Forever Evil saga, be sure to read Forever Evil #7 before this.

Now with that out of the way, this issue rocked. Geoff Johns is once again able to deliver a quite satisfying issue full of great characterization from all the members from the JL.

Johns' portrayal of Luthor continues to be excellent in this series as well as his interactions with the rest of the League. All these characters are wonderfully depicted and react to Lex's comments just the way you would expect, so far the team dynamics are wonderful.

There are also some pretty progressive moments in terms of story being delivered here. The Justice League needs to be prepared to the threat that is destroying different universes and Luthor uses this in his favor. Plus, the introduction of a new host for the Power Ring and a shocking surprise at the ending creates the perfect hook to make people interested in future issues.

Ivan Reis and Doug Mahnke share art duties on this issue and both do a terrific job at depicting all these characters as well as their setting, their styles are gorgeous.

Promising first issue from this exciting new direction, you need to check it out.
