Some thoughts about Aquaman #27

Can Aquaman save the people of Iceland from one of the most horrible creatures that they have ever seen?

The Karaqan has awaken and is willing to destroy everything on its path, Arthur will have to use all of his abilities to try to stop it and by doing so he will learn that there are much bigger events unfolding in front of him.

This is the second issue of Jeff Parker's run on the series and it seems like he's taking his time to build-up the story but he's consistently improving by each month. The current issue focuses on Arthur fight with the Karaqan but we also see several glances from the people of Maine as well as some visions from Arthur's past which cement his relationship with the land and its habitants. It's a quite satisfyig story on those terms.

Now about the art, Paul Pelletier keeps delivering the strongest pieces of work while Netho Diaz does a serviceable but not really impressive job. Still, I must say that the artwork is much more polished than in the previous issue.

Nice improvement over the previous chapter, let's hope that Parker continues this trend.
