The recently reborn Justice League believe that they can handle every threat that exists but can they handle someone who is able to alter the universe?
The team is forced to fight Locus, a teenage girl who is able to bend reality at her will, and despite of their best efforts they're not able to handle such ability and that will be the cost of someone's life.
This is the second issue of this new series and by now it has already gotten my attention, Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis not only present a group of characters quite different from the classic icons in terms of personlity but also different in terms of power-set. A Superman that can't really fly, a Green Lantern who doesn't actually has access to the green light of willpower, I'm pretty sure that we will see more of these cases over the course of the series.
Plus, this title presents some pretty interesting concepts. The new antagonist introduces a quite powerful and creative ability that displays a lot of potential, not to mention that she's full of eprsonality too.
Also, did I mention that a character dies here? And not in the most conforting way.
On the art side, Howard Porter continues to deliver his powerful, kinetic and creative work while creating nice character and humour moments.
Fantastic issue. Favorite pick of the week so far.
