Some thoughts about Doctor Fate #6

The Gods are going to destroy the world.

Khalid has no choice but confront the dark deity that has been threatening him and the people he cares about and that could mean the end for him.

Not so fast in terms of progression but still quite enjoyable.

Paul Levitz brings a new chapter that takes place immediately after the last one with Khalid losing his sight thanks to Anubis but saving his father in the proccess. This allows for some interesting and creative moments like Khalid using the Helmet of Fate to connect to the world and regain his vision, the writing here feels pretty modern which is especially surprising considering the writer.

In terms of characterization it works even better due that there are some genuinely charming moments between Khalid's parents that actually makes you care about their relationship, their portrayal feel pretty real.

Again, I don't feel like there's much story development due that Khalid keeps fighting the same enemy in similar ways but it compensates it with the previously mentioned aspects.

Sonny Liew continues to handle the art and his work is still one of the most unique currently and this is probably his best issue yet, great and creative storytelling.

Enjoyable issue but let's see a climax already.
