Wolverine is dead, the legacy lives on.
Laura is decided to keep Logan's memory one way or another, especially now that she has to face a group of enemies that has more in common with her than she could imagine.
Yet another new beginning for another Marvel character, I have liked X-23 since her introduction and this seemed like the next logical step in her development, so does it delivers?
I would say yeah and in a pretty good way.
Tom Taylor handles a story where he focuses on the kind of person that Laura is, the similarities that Logan and her have as well as their differences, and all of it is perfectly executed. Since the early scenes where Laura and Logan start having a conversation in her head, you can note a lot of Taylor's skills like the good dialogue and character moments, there's a lot of personality in the writing and it developes the characterization quite effectively.
The action scenes are also well-constructed as you would expect since that's one of Taylor's strong points and give a good reason about why Laura uses that silly Wolverine costume. The plot is also connected to the protagonist in an interesting manner and makes you wonder where is going.
David Lopez and David Navarrot handle art duties and the result is a pretty good looking work with beautiful characters and powerful action segments.
Pretty promising opening, invested on the future now.
