Batman will need to fight alongside his worst enemy to survive.
Bruce has been figthing against the Joker since the very beginning but after a strange virus infects both, the two will need to collaborate to find the culprit and the cure.
This is one of the projects I never thought would be ever released, it has been delayed several times along with other famous Batbook that is also surprisingly getting released soon. So, after all this wait does it delivers?
Well, so far so good.
Brian Azzarello is accompanied by Matteo Casali in this story where they handle a classic story about Bruce fighting criminals like Killer Crok but the plot takes a twist once that he realizes that there's something going wrong with him. Such twist is not particularly surprising but it works nicely for the kind of premise they're going for, a Batman and the Joker team-up.
The characterization is well-done with both protagonists acting the way you would expect, there's nothing particularly innovative about it but again, is a solid portrayal of these two archenemies and manages to deliver some entertaining moments. I have to say I was missing funny Joker considering that we have been having terrifying Joker for the most part recently.
Giuseppi Camuncoli is in charge of the layouts while none other than Jim Lee finishes the work and the result is quite impressive with a work much more beautiful and distinctive than Lee's solo work. It looks wonderful and easily one of the best offerings in pencils this week.
Pretty solid I would say, typical Batman stuff but well-executed.
