Some thoughts about Moon Knight #2

Is all of this real?

Marc Spector has apparently been in an asylum since he was a kid but he knows deep inside that this is all a lie and Moon Knight is the truth. Now, joined with what seem to be old friends, he's ready to escape from his captors.

Yep, Jeff Lemire continues to rock in yet another series.

The writer delivers a new chapter where he focuses on the sense of reality between what other people want Marc to believe and what is actually happening, although everything might just be in his head. All is connected with several classic characters and mythos from this series making an appearance in strange ways to emphasize the bizarre direction Lemire is going for.

The plot progresses satisfactorily with Marc learning more and more about his current state and starting to regain some of his own conciousness to try to escape and help his allies at the same time. The big moments are also well-executed.

Greg Smallwood is in charge of the pencils and he complements the writing perfectly with a great storytelling skill that is able to create really unique visuals that depict the events perfectly and in some cases makes them even better.

Simply great, I repeat: Lemire can do no wrong.

  1. Sounds like Lemire is completing Moon Knight's transformation into the Marvel Fight Club. Fascinating.
