The legend continues.
Firestorm and Professor Stein will need to learn to work together. Metamorpho will explore a civilazation connected to his powers. Sugar and Spike will have to help the most powerful woman in the world. The Metal Men will need to stop a being just like them.
Lots of solid stuff here.
The first story focusing of Firestorm written by Gerry Conway continues its consistent improvement by offering more character work, particularly the relationship between Ronnie and Professor Stein which is obviously something the writer is quite fond of and to be fair he does a good job at depicting their dynamic. Eduardo Pansica handles the artwork and is good looking with expressive characters and strong action scenes.
The following segment is about Metamorpho written and drawn by Aaron Lopresti and while is still the weakest of all the stories, is at least serviceable with some interesting exploration about the origins of Rex's powers. Lopresti's artwork is decent but it doesn't look as good as his usual stuff.
Sugar and Spike continues to shine thanks to Keith Giffen's writing. The author knows how to create engaging and fun dialogue that brings a lot of personality to the characters and story. The premise is also quite fun with both characters helping Wonder Woman about a marriage scandal which is simply ridiculously awesome. Bilquis Evely continues to in art duties and his work is really good with a pretty distinctive style that creates beautiful and detailed characters.
Len Wein is still working on Metal Men and is still an enjoyable story. The premise about them interacting with the rest of the characters introduced in Geoff Johns' Justice League is quite appealing and the writer does a good job at delivering the premise while creating interesting mysteries. Yildiray Cinar is still in charge of the pencils and is pretty appealing with a vibrant style and intense action scenes.
Quite enjoyable anthology, especially for Sugar and Spike as usual.
