Apocalypse is coming.
Evan is trying to celebrate his birthday the best way he can. Unfortunately he's not sure if he's being happy because he truly wants to or if is the only thing that would prevent him from becoming the being that everyone fears.
Well, this brought both character work and plot progression this time.
Dennis Hopeless arrives with a new chapter devoted mostly on Evan and how he reflects about his whole life and his feared destiny. Is an interesting development due that it presents some complex questions about the nature of his whole life due that he was raised especifically to be happy to prevent him from becoming Apocalypse so he's not sure if what he feels is real or not. There's also the fact that he cares about his friends and he doesn't want to become their enemy.
The story advances at a nice pace with Evan traveling to a place where he's forced to face even more things connected to his inevitable fate and hopefully will present more developments in the future.
Mark Bagley continues in art duties and his work remains solid with good looking characters and intense action scenes.
Pretty satisfying issue, hope the next one is just as good.
