Swamp Thing will realize that getting what he most desires could mean the end of the world.
Matt Cable has decided to switch places with Alec and become the new Swamp Thing but Alec is starting to have doubts about his friend's intentions.
Huh, this issue gives me some mixed thoughts.
Len Wein delivers a new chapter exactly where the last one ended with Alec choosing to become a human again and being tricked by Matt to give him his powers. Admitedly, at first glance it seemed like Matt planned this all along to get the powers for his own but later it seemed like he did have some selfless intentions... only to be revealed that he does have some selfish plans at the end.
Despite of how predictable this sounds, I liked how the whole story was handled. The reason behind Matt's actions are not that well-explained but I liked the way how the plot progressed and the new threat is presented in an interesting way. Alec's characterization is also on-point.
Kelley Jones continues to handle the art and is still quite fitting for the tone of the series by being able to depict horrible moments in a quite detailed manner and the bizarre scenes are also nicely drawn.
Decent overall, not many complaints aside from some nitpicks.
