The Convergence of wolrds has been affecting their city but no matter what, the first heroes from this planet will go to defend it.
And really, that's mostly what happens.
I'm not saying that the story told by Dan Abnett is a bad one since it's well executed for the most part, the characters are on-point and the dialogue is pretty natural.
The problem is that once again, it doesn't offer anything particularly new about these heroes. We have seen several stories in the past about how the JSA feels old and don't think they can handle the job anymore just to demonstrate that they can actually do it. No surprises in either the characterization nor the story.
The art provided by Tom Derenick is pretty solid with good looking characters and pretty accurate expressions.
Is it worth reading? I would say yeah but don't expect something great.
