Some thoughts about Superman: The Man of Steel #2

Steel will be forced to fight a group of kids just like his own.

John has been severely injured after his early fight and now his niece will have to carry on with the battle. If he wants to help her he will have to truly become a Man of Steel.

Goddammit, underwhelming as hell.

Louise Simonson delivers a conclusion that doesn't offer anything new about this character and not even serves as an interesting story by itself. The characterization is okay but it's nothing really spectacular and the final pages barely gives a sense of closure.

Plus, once again the writing can be pretty dated with overexposition and thought bubbles appearing here and there which takes you out of this already mediocre tale.

June Brigman's pencils are okay but nothing worth noticing, they get the job done but they're not particularly beautiful nor polished.

Quite average issue. Don't bother.
