Batman needs allies and he will find them in the worst place possible.
Bane is planning something and is up to Bruce to figure out what it is and to do so, he will need the help of some of the people he usually fights.
Well, this is yet another issue of Tom King's Batman again.
The story opens interesting enough with Bane being presented in a threatening way which obviously promises a big role for him in the future. The exploration of Arkham Asylum is on-point for the most part and the immates Bruce is looking for certainly form an unique team. It seems like King is retconning a few things concerning one particular character and it might work for the better. The last page was surprising and made me wonder why she is in this place.
HOWEVER, it still suffers from some of the usual problems from King's run and overall work. The dialogue can be incredibly forced at times with characters completely refusing to talk like actual people and instead throwing a few lines that are connected to the theme they're playing with which makes the whole thing pretty unnatural and at this point, predictable.
And even worse, this is still not particularly impressive in that sense. Yes, the story is interesting enough but it doesn't go beyond that to the point it becomes impressive.
Mikel Janin's artwork on the other hand, is truly impressive with a beautiful style that creates gorgeous characters and strong storytelling.
Still not feeling it, was hoping for more.
