Can Blue Beetle escape from his new enemies?
The Posse has been introduced along with a girl named Blur who is a bit too obsessed with Jaime and might prove to be more problematic than expected.
Okay, some things worked and others didn't.
Keith Giffen brings a new chapter where he introduces several new characters into Blue Beetle's world and he does it with the usual wit that is classic from him. The character work is solid with Jaime acting the way you would expect and with a nice comedic tone for the overall story and supporting cast, there's even a heartwarming moment at the end between Jaime and his mom which brings a smile to my face.
THE PROBLEM comes with Blur, the new girl who is obsessed with Jaime who is a bit too obsessed to the point that she looks like a sexual harasser constantly hitting on Jaime in a way that makes me feel really unconfortable and the fact that Jaime simply accept it at the end doesn't really make things better. I get that Giffen is an old-school writer who doesn't believe that a man can be harassed by a woman but I just wish he would make a bit of investigation.
Scott Kolins handles the artwork and is still fitting with an energetic style that creates good character expressions and vibrant action scenes.
Not bad aside from a few problematic issues.
