The Teen Titans will have to fight against one of their worst adversaries.
Damian has kidnapped the whole team and wants to convince them that they need to be together once again due that a terrible being is coming after them.
The proper beginning of this series and once again, is not as bad as it could have been.
In fact, I would dare to say that is surprisingly solid. I have mentioned this in the past but when Ben Percy doesn't focus so much on being profound or political to idiotic and unrealistic levels, he actually has the skills to write a competent story and this is a good example of that. The characterization is pretty solid due that most of the members of the cast actually act the way they should do and Percy even gives Damian a justifiable reason to form the team while the characters from the previous one react in a logical way by remembering how well that went the last couple of times. Everything here seems on-point.
Even the dialogue, one of the worst things that Percy is known for, is actually readable here. There's some interesting and shockingly natural lines where the characters perfectly express their feelings and personalities.
On the other hand, the plot is not really good since their adversary is someone who several people have beaten in the past already and I'm not that interested in their encounter.
Jon Meyers delivers his final work and is a shame he's gone since his kinetic and youthful style was perfect for the book, he had a great skill at injecting energy into the characters and script.
Yeah, not bad but I still think the book will lose a lot once that Meyers is gone.
