The Trinity's dreams are about to become reality.
Clark has found that his father and his old-self have appeared from nowhere which brings him the opportunity to reconnect with the man who raised him but unfortunately, not everything is what it seems.
Well, this story took an interesting twist.
Francis Manapul offers his second installment by focusing on the ramifications of the first one with the young version of Clark and Pa Kent suddenly appearing. The dialogue, while not perfect, is still an improvement over the previous issue, with more natural interactions between the characters and actual logical reasons for their conversations. The characterization is also quite solid with the dynamic between them being the way how their personalities are explored.
The highlights were also the conversations between Clark and Jonathan Kent which follows the course of an intriguing plot with a solid surprise at the end and explains what is going to happen in the future. At one point one would think this is mostly a Superman story but then this character appears and reminds you that this book is about the whole Trinity.
Manapul's pencils are gorgeous as expected with stunning character models, a clean style and excellent storytelling with pretty creative panels.
Enjoyable issue, hope the next one continues the improvement.
