Some thoughts about Superman #8

There are still stories to tell.

Clark and Jon have found their way into Dinosaur Island and by trying to escape they will find the last message from a hero.

As far as tributes go, this was a solid one.

Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason deliver an issue where they waste no time to go straight into the premise of Superman and Superboy lost in Dinosaur Island. There are fun moments in this little story where the writers exploit the premise as well as they can with enjoyable interactions and lines here and there. The fact they're fighting against dinosaurs is always entertaining.

However, the best part comes almost to the end where the authors show they obviously created this story in honour of Darwyn Cooke who died this year by acknowledging one of his most famous stories and it certainly works even better thank to that. Is a heartwarming moment when you consider the context.

Doug Mahnke is in charge of the art and his style is always appreciated thanks to his beautiful characters and strong storytelling skill.

Quite solid and it shows the series continues to be consistent.
