Some thoughts about Batman #8

The night is longer than expected.

Nightwing and Gotham Girl have been turned into monsters and both Batman and Batwoman are trying to figure out a way to stop them before they destroy the whole city.

"The night is longer than expected" all right because this is yet another chapter where very little happens.

Steve Orlando and Tom King deliver a new installment where they focus on the consequences of the last one with both Dick and Claire being infected by the Monster Men virus. Credit where credit is due, the action scenes are nicely executed, they have a good sense of pacing and even offer some good moments like the team-up between Batman and Clayface.

However, as already mentioned, there's not a lot of plot. Is just a big fight segment between Batman and the Monster Men once again and we don't even see other aspects of the story like Hugo Strange's plans or even any involvement whatsoever. Is getting very shallow and doesn't offer a lot of content.

Riley Rossmo is the best aspect of this issue thanks to his distinctive artstyle that offers creative layouts and storytelling.

Aside from that, not a lot to see here. Let's see if the next chapter actually fixes these issues.
