Things are about to get weirder even if they can't believe it.
Larry Trainor is trying to figure what happened and Robotman is about to receive a dangerous visit.
Okay, this is still in the same vein as in the first issue and while I still have some problems with it, I like a few aspects.
Gerard Way offers a new chapter of his story where he slowly starts to answer the question of "Whatever happened to the Doom Patrol?". We see a few hints about what has been happening to the different members and why they are in their current state and the new threat is presented in an interesting way.
The thing is that narration can easily become pretentious to the point that is obnoxious. Way is trying very hard to make his dialogue distinctive and memorable by pretty much making people not talk like people which can be okay since half the cast are not actual human beings but in many instances is also pretty awkward.
On the other hand, there's good character work and an intriguing direction while Way reintroduces a fan-favorite character from Vertigo (and also one of my personal favorites) to the DCU which gave me a big smile so I'm going to give him credit for that.
Nick derington remains in art duties and his work is still quite unique with a clean style that creates good character expressions and inventive panels.
Solid I would say, maybe I could like this simply because of the fanservice.
