Some thoughts about Transformers: Lost Light #1

Whatever happened to the Lost Light?

Rodimus and his crew were robbed of their ship by Getaway and they need to find a way to get back on their quest no matter what although it could take some time and missteps.

Here we go again people!

As most fans should know, this is a continuation of James Roberts' work on Transformers: More than Meets the Eye following many of the plot-points that were unresolved towards its conclusion and in that regard, I would say is successful.

Roberts continues the same quirky style he's known for here and if you like that kind of writing then you will find yourself  at home once again. Mind you, sometimes he goes a bit overboard with the jokes especially during a scene where one of the new characters complaints about how there are not enough jokes which I don't know if it was intentional or Roberts doesn't understand the irony.

Anyway, the plot progresses at a nice pace and I still quite enjoy most of the characters and how they relate to each other. The relationships have always been one of the strongest points of this crew and this doesn't disappoint especially during scenes like when Rung receives the news about Skids.

And the final pages offer an interesting enough cliffhanger to be invested.

Jack Lawrence handles the artwork and his style is pretty manga-inspired that might remind you at first glance of Hayato Sakamoto's pencils. It gets the job done with solid expressions and storytelling.

Not a bad beginning actually and is still pretty fun but I hope the stories get more satisfying conclusions this time.
