Some thoughts about Wonder Woman #12

One of the Wonder Woman's biggest enemies is about to appear.

Diana is trying to get used to this new world just when the rest are investigating about the strange infection that is changing people and they will need to realize who is behind it as a fast as possible.

Well, this was a solid issue fo the most part.

Greg Rucka offers a new chapter from the Year One storyline where he continues to develope the early days of Diana as well as the rest of the cast. This is Rucka we're talking about so of course you can expect Lesbian subtext from not only Diana, but also the rest of the women from the book, particularly both Barbara and Etta. You know I do love that sort of thing but Rucka tends to overuse that character trait so much in his stories that one can't help but find it repetitive. Then again, this at least connects them to the WW mythos even more.

I'm not really a fan of reimagining Ares as a big villain once again though, especially after the wonderful job Brian Azzarello did to the character to make him more complex during his run. I'm going to wait to see what's going to happen but so far is not really promising.

Nicola Scott returns to art duties and her work is still magnificent with the right character expressions at the right moments and excellent storytelling.

Enjoyable for the most part but I hope things don't get worse.
