Some thoughts about The Flash #13

Christmas is coming to Central City and The Flash doesn't have time for it.

Barry and Iris have been trying to make their relationship work and Wally is decided to help them by making the city at least tonight.

Well, this was a pretty charming story overall.

Joshua Williamson offers an one-and-done tale focusing on Christmas as well as the romance between Barry and Iris and how all of those things affect Wally. The character work is pretty solid, is pretty obvious how Wally has progressed recently by becoming a much more likable kid who actually shows cares about others which is quite the contrast considering how he was introduced. The relationship between Barry and Iris is also well-handled with logical questions based on what has happening to them all this time.

Even the villains receive an interesting treatment while promising new and more exciting events coming. Some of Williamson's flaws like the overwritten narration are still present but they don't particularly affect the story.

Neil Googe handles the art and is pretty solid with expressive characters and a clean style that depicts the speed scenes nicely.

Pretty enjoyable, only minor problems that could be easily fixed but still don't ruin the experience.
