Some thoughts about Harley's Little Black Book #5

The two biggest champions of the world are going to fight for its fate.

An alien race has chosen Superman and Harley Quinn to put a spectacle where they will have to decide who is stronger to save the people from Earth from being destroyed.

This premise is as silly as you would expect and fortunately is pretty fitting for this book.

Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner continue their team-up book this time by putting Harley Quinn against Superman in a way that clearly homages the classic fight between Muhammad Ali and the Man of Steel. Is a an idea that doesn't take itself seriously and in many instances makes fun or the original story while at the same time showing a lot of appreciation for it.

The classic Harley Quinn humour is of course present here in a way that parodies Superman's characterization but without being meanspirited, is obvious the creators have a lot of fun at writing this particular encounter with a lot of easter egg being thrown here.

Neal Adams is in charge of the artwork and it makes sense considering his involvement in the original story but he's also a nice fit for the book thanks to his great range of expressions and comedic tone.

Pretty enjoyable as usual, excited for the next team-up.
