Some thoughts about Supergirl: Being Super #1

What happens to Supergirl in another life?

Kara Danvers has always considered herself different and not only because she has superstrenght and can fly, strange dreams have been appearing to her and might be a warning of what is about to occurr.

This is something I haven't seen in a while, an Elseworlds story based on Supergirl or all superheroines but on one side, why not? She's currently getting a lot of popularity thanks to her T.V. show and DC is considering her a relevant part of their roster so it makes sense for them to start exploring other possibilities for stories featuring her.

This particular tale is written Mariko Tamaki and reimagines Kara as a normal teenager who already knows about her superpowers and most of the actual character work comes from what she's planning to do in the future. This in and on itself allows for a more interesting development since it focuses on her human side and shows how relatable she can be. The contrast with her two best friends helps to emphasize such portrayal since they also have interesting personalities that help showcase the interaction between them.

The natural dialogue contributes a lot to this since most of the lines are pretty solid and perfectly depict how these character are. The plot itself is not that deep but the previous aspects compensate for it.

Joelle Jones handles the artwork and is really good looking with a really detailed style that gets the best from characters and settings. Although there's a particular acne incident that I wish wouldn't have been so detailed.

Promising beginning overall, hope it continues this way.
