Some thoughts about Red Hood and the Outlaws #5

Red Hood can't control the Outlaws.

Black Mask has gained power over Bizarro and now has ordered him to kill Jason. Now, both Jason and Artemis will have to find a way to stop Bizarro before is too late.

Still solid fortunately.

Scott Lobdell continues his story about the Dark Trinity by continuing his development of these different characters and how they relate to each other. Again, Lobdell always had a good grasp on Jason but now he demonstrates he knows how to portray others like Bizarro who show more complexity besides being a simple monster. Artemis is still not quite as likable but hopefully she will improve over the course of the story.

The narration can be overwritten at times as with most Lobdell works but here is not as noticeable thankfully. Black Mask represents an interesting and personal challenge for Jason while their contrasts in personalities show more depth in both of them.

Dexter Soy is a magnificent artist and makes this story even better than it actually is thanks to his vibrant style and powerful storytelling.

Pretty enjoyable and I'm surprised by it.
