What is Wonder Woman's fate?
Ares is out of control and now Diana will have to join forces with Aphrodite to stop the mad God but even if they manage to do it, things are far from over for them.
And this is where this arc makes sense. It was pure set-up.
G. Willow Wilson concludes her first storyline by delivering the final fight against Ares and creating a brand new direction but just like in previous installments, is not really engaging. The thing about this battle is that is not particularly interesting nor exciting (which is understandable since this has never been one of the author's strengths) but at least I was hoping for some solid character work from it and while we get some glances, there's never anything that compelling.
This would have been more acceptable if at least the escalation to this moment would have been more entertaining but as we have seen, most of the stuff that happened before was pretty underwhelming. Not to mention that the fight doesn't last that long and the rest of the issue is dedicated to put Diana in a new status quo which is not bad per se but makes all the previous chapters seem like a waste since I feel all of this could have been explored in less issues.
Xermanico's artwork is really good though with beautiful characters and a vibrant style.
Aside from that, still a waste. Not sure if what's coming next will be better.
