Are the Teen Titans fated to fight among themselves?
Damian suspects that Jason Todd has betrayed them and the rest of the team will have to handle a new villain who could destroy them from the core.
An Annual has arrived and once again, Adam Glass demonstrates a great expertize at handling the different characters and situations.
The Annual is divided in 3 segments. The first one is based on the ramifications from the last issue where Damian finally confronts Jason and this ultimately escalates to a brutal fight between the two. Both characters are handled really well fortunately, Damian seems pretty irrational but that's mostly because of the more ruthless direction that he has been taking since the beginning to this run so this particular development is natural progression, Jason on the other hand, tries to calm him down initially which seems pretty in character considering all the things happened to him and Glass references many aspects that connects both of them which makes this battle pretty personal between the two.
Ryan Benjamin handles the art and is really appealing thanks to the detailed style and vibrant action.
The second part belongs to the rest of the team and just like with the first, this follows all the development these characters have been getting from the start. The cast is forced to deal with a new villain who is able to control others and this becomes even worse once that he gains control of Djinn. This is especially important because it showcases the dynamics that both Emiko and Crush have built-up with her and eventually leads to a pretty intriguing conflict with the latter.
The final segment is an epilogue where both stories come together and is setting-up the internal conflict that the team is about to suffer. Jose Luis' artwork in both parts has a very classic look and is really good to look at.
Overall, a pretty entertaining and fulfilling story. Can't wait to see more.
