Who is causing the Speedsters to fight?
Godspeed is back and is ready to meet all the other users of the Speed Force. Meanwhile, Barry will have to give the terrible news of Wally's death to his close ones.
Another Annual has arrived and once again, proves to be a worthy read.
Joshua Williamson implements the ramifications of this week chapter of The Flash concerning the death of Wally. The way how all of this is handled brings many solid examples of character work due that this builds from the relationship that Barry has established with others like Wallace and especially Iris, in fact, the conversation between Barry and Iris is one of the most emotional moments from the entire installment.
One can't forget the sudden appearance of Impulse and I must say that Williamson demonstrates a good handle on the character. He quickly establishes Bart's fun side like how he overexplains everything, even his inner monologue, not to mention that his constant references to Wally and the past/future shows how much he cared about him and how things keep changing.
The battle against Godspeed proves to be pretty exciting and puts everyone in danger. Best of all is how this is connected to a much bigger threat that at first I thought was connected with the upcoming war between the Forces that was teased during this week's installment but it seems like is actually something else, something that I completely forgot and is related to one of the Speedsters' biggest enemies.
Scott Kolins brings a fantastic classic feel to the book due to his history with the series and executes both the speed and character segments nicely.
Great issue, probably one of the best this week.
