Some thoughts about Deathstroke #39

What is real?

Hugo Strange has captured Deathstroke and is testing his sanity, the only way to escape is letting go the last bit of humanity left.

Another issue, another solid entry, what more to say?

Christopher Priest continues to explore Deathstroke's psyche while also exploring another scenarios. The way how Hugo Strange plays with Slade's mind is compelling enough and it allows for an appropriate recopilation of all the ideas that have been appearing in this arc along with a few ones from previous stories which also forces him to commit a last desperate act to save himself only to realize that now he's more doomed than ever.

As usual, Priest also gives the rest of the cast the spotlight exploring Rose's journey to investigate her history while also giving her new husband a quite humourous team-up with one of Slade's enemies.

Carlo Pagulayan and Fernando Pasarin share the pencils and their work is strong a usual with solid character expressions and exciting action scenes.

Good read, hope the conclusion is satisfying.
