Some thoughts about Hawkman #8

Who is the Hawkman of Krypton?

Carter has traveled once again to meet one of his previous incarnations who turned out to be Catar-Ol from Krypton but he's going to arrive at the worst possible time.

This series is actually getting better and better.

Robert Venditti offers a new installment where he explores a completely new life for the protagonist. Carter's journey has taken him to Krypton this time to meet a quite peculiar individual, the absent-minded Catar-Ol. We learn more about his life in this planet and how he was even familiar to some of the members from the House of El. This allows for a decent amount of worldbuilding that explores a few aspects that are often ignore from the Superman mythos.

Of course, the circunstances of Carter's arrival makes this encounter much more tense which creates a pretty emotional meeting between these two versions of Hawkman and pushes the protagonist into the next direction. Is hard to make you care for an one-and-done character but the writer managed to do it.

Bryan Hitch remains in art duties and his work is still pretty detailed in terms of environments and creates his classic widescreen view for the spectacle.

Great read, one of my favorites so far.
