Michael has meet his match and he doesn't have his team to face the Dreadfuls. Now, the rest of the group will have to decide if they want to be back.
This issue worked on several levels once again.
Jeff Lemire offers a new installment where he continues to explore the lives of the cast beyond The Terrifics. The character work continues to be one of shiniest aspects of this book based on how Phantom Girl can't adapt to her normal life in her planet and needs to escape, how Plastic Man tries to connect with his son once again and how Metamorpho deals with the dilemma if he really wants to return as the Elemental Man.
The plot itself doesn't progress much since the chapter is mostly devoted to character development. However, it does present a few key aspects like an alternate version of Michael's wife and also offers fun moments like Eel stealing the Batmobile to impress his son. Good stuff.
Viktor Bogdanovic handles the art and is fantastic as expected with beautiful and expressive characters along with a precise storytelling.
Great read, can't wait for the next one.
