Some thoughts about The Green Lantern #9

Can the Green Lantern fight against an inter-dimensional threat?

Hal Jordan wanted to spend a good time in another reality only to discover that powerful beings are attacking the Multiverse and now he will have to fight another wearer of the ring.

This seems mostly like an interlude issue to be honest.

Grant Morrison offers a new chapter where he implements some of the concepts he created in the past. The appearance of ideas from the Multiversity series makes a lot of sense and Morrison uses his love for classic, obscure concepts to introduce characters like Vartox who have their own universe and I wish more time was spent on it to actually explore it. The appearance of Abin Sur from the Multiversity event is also appreciated although his role is not really as important as the cover might make you believe.

And that's what I meant early on. All of this is basically a set-up for the real fight that is about to happen, a fight were other characters from the Multiverse are going to play a more important role and while the cliffhanger is interesting, it makes you wish that these things actually happened here.

Liam Sharp remains in art duties and his work is still really solid thanks to his great ability to depict bizarre settings and events.

Not bad but needed more as a whole. Hope the next one doesn't arrive too late.
