Some thoughts about Gotham Academy #2

What's the mystery behind Gotham Academy?

Something made Olive Silverlock change and most of the people around her don't understand why. However, once that both Maps and her start exploring more about the strange events that have been happening lately, the secrets will start being revealed.

Second installment of this new ongoing series and I would say that I liked it even better than the previous one.

Becky Cloonan and Brenden Fletcher continue to dig into Gotham Academy by presenting different plot-points that have happened during its history as well as hinting about events that are going to happen later. It creates a pretty good sense of scale and worldbuilding that allow the series to feel much bigger in terms of scope.

The characters are also quite good. Olive's character is developed much more and now we get a better sense about her background. The rest of the cast is really solid too, from the teachers and the students every supporting character shows a lot of personality.

Plus, this chapter had great content, I'm surprised about the amount of story they packed here.

Of course, this book wouldn't be the same without Karl Kerschl's beautiful art. He's able to create the atmosphere and the style that makes this book so different from the rest and gives it a pretty indie feel. You wouldn't even know this is a book from the Batman family.

Excellent issue. Hope this title continues to deliver.
