Some thoughts about The Flash #36

The Flash is lost in the Speed Force, now who will protect Central City?

Futures Barry has returned to the present and he has decided to take advantage of the new opportunity that was given to him to live along his loved ones again. Unfortunately, his murderous tendencies won't stop.

I suppose that this issue marks the beginning of a new arc and so far I would say I'm enjoying it.

Robert Venditti and Van Jensen create a story separated in two segments, one based on The Flash from the present and the other on The Future Flash. Barry from the present is currently in a strange part of the Speed Force and it was interesting to see new aspects from it.

However, the best part of this issue is the dynamic between future Barry and the rest of the cast, the characterization and dialogue is pretty good and it was nice to see the writers exploit the knowledge about upcoming events that this character has.

Brett Booth is in charge of the art for the Speed Force segments and his work is pretty kinetic and powerful as usual.

However, I have to say that my favorite artist from this issue was Andre Coelho thanks to his expressive and appealing style and I'm pretty sad to say that this is his last work since he just passed away. It's a true shame to see such a talented penciller going so soon. R.I.P.

Pretty solid issue, hopefully it will continue to be this way.
