Some thoughts about Wonder Woman #36

Can Wonder Woman handle all the responsibilities she has at hand?

Diana has suffered a lot in recent times due to all the events that have happened. The tension of the constant battles is coming to her and is about to get worse.

This issue marks the arrival of the new creative team of Meredith and David Finch. Both creators had the difficult mission of handle the Wonder Woman series after the now legendary Brian Azzarello and Cliff Chiang reinterpretation. Are they able to compete?

Of course they don't.

I'm not only talking about how common this new direction is in comparison to what came before but also because overall, this issue was not really impressive and was poorly crafted in some points.

Meredith Finch handles the writing and her work is pretty amateurish at some points with some cringe-worthy lines like "Vegetative injustice" as well as narration that takes itself way too seriously and it's pretty pretentious in the worst way.

There are some positive aspects though. The characterization seems solid so far, Diana is a bit reckless but the rest of the characters quickly recognize this is odd coming from her so it obviously serves a purpose.

However, the writing style lacks any kind of personality and I feel like it still needs a lot before it becomes competent.

David Finch's artwork is actually better looking here than in his previous works but it still has weird moments with some ugly character models and wonky perspectives.

Not a really promising beginning sadly. Look some place else.
