Superwoman will have to save one of her closest friends.
Supergirl has just arrived to assist Lana with her new enemy but that might not be enough since a new Maxima is also going to cause trouble.
Some things worked, others didn't.
I already mentioned during the last issue that the way how they handled the story progression was pretty jarring since it almost felt like they skipped a chapter, this one has more natural progression but is still not perfect since the pacing can be erratic with scenes that jump from one point to another without proper transitions of set-ups, particularly the way how the new Maxima was introduced.
That being said, I did enjoy the characterization, the relationship between Lana and Kara and it was cool that Kate Perkins addressed her Supergirl run by reintroducing the Maxima who appeared here and I wish she had more constant appearances as well.
Stephen Segovia's artwork is simply amazing, is one of the biggest reasons why this issue was worth checking out. His characters are stunning, the action scenes vibrant and the storytelling is pretty precise. This is probably one of the best looking Superman books.
Not bad, not great but at least it was pretty.
