Can Dick Grayson save his family?
Dick has just realized that his son has superpowers and that could put his life and everyone around him in danger.
This miniseries continues and so far, is pretty enjoyable.
Kyle Higgins delivers a new chapter of this dystopian future to explore mostly the characters and the ways they're connected to each other. The character work is the focus here since Higgins reveals more about what prompted Nightwing to change the world (although the reasons are not fully revealed yet), the background of Dick's son is also expanded since we finally learn who his mother is (which is someone that most people were suspecting) and how all of this affected Dick's relationship with Alfred.
The interactions between the cast is what makes all of this shine. The accurate characterization and natural dialogue makes you buy that this could happen to these people and it manages to deliver some solid and emotional scenes, especially towards the end. Mind you, the future setting is not particularly well-implemented due to the huge focus on character development but still, the desperate and authoritarian theme is solidly depicted at least and offers interesting dilemmas for the protagonist.
Trevor McCarthy's artwork is quite good. His semi-cartoony style makes everything come to life and his storytelling sells the script perfectly.
Pretty solid issue, excited for the next one.
